Urgent appointments
- You can request an urgent appointment on the day (Monday to Friday) during our opening times
- We will be in contact on the same day, if your request is triaged as requiring an urgent appointment
- Your appointment will be allocated to a health care professional that is most suitable to deal with your request efficiently
Routine appointments
- Routine appointments with your usual GP can be booked in advance
- If you’re happy to see any available doctor, we can also offer book-ahead appointments
- Appointments may be triaged by a doctor to ensure they are appropriate
Nurse or Healthcare appointment
- Nurse appointments are for long term conditions, dressings, smear tests, minor injuries, travel vaccinations, vaccinations & blood tests
- Both of our surgeries are equipped with a Health Pod, which you can use at any time during our opening hours—no appointment needed. The pods allow you to check your blood pressure, height, weight, complete new patient checks, as well as smoking and alcohol audits.
- Using the Health Pod helps reduce pressure on our appointment system and supports more efficient care. Our reception staff will be happy to explain the system to you.
Home visits
- If you are housebound and require an appointment, please complete the Request a Home Visit form
- Please request a home visit before 10am
- Once these have been allocated you will be contacted
Your appointment
However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:
- By phone
- Face to face at the surgery
- On a video call
- By text or email
Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
- Use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- Use the Other admin request for Rosedale Surgery or Kirkley Mill Surgery

If you need help when we are closed
If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.
NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

- If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
- If you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
- If you need an interpreter
- If you have any other access or communication needs
Musculoskeletal First Contact (MSK) Practitioners (FCPs)
First Contact Practitioners (FCPs) have a physiotherapy background with an have extensive post-graduate experience in managing patients with musculoskeletal conditions, such as osteoarthritis, back pain, and problems affecting the joints, muscles and soft tissues.
